The Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation will host the 2026 OCP Global Summit from October 12 to 15, 2026 in San Jose, California. Held under the theme "Scaling Innovation for the AI Era," the summit is the largest annual gathering of the open hardware and data center infrastructure community.
Four days, two keynote sessions
This year the summit has been extended to four days. Keynotes are scheduled for Monday afternoon (Oct. 12) and Tuesday morning (Oct. 13), with the event opening at 11:00 AM Pacific Time on Monday (3:00 AM, Oct. 13 in Korea). The program combines keynotes, technical workshops and engineering sessions in which engineers, researchers and industry leaders review progress across OCP projects and discuss the challenges ahead.
Why it matters
As AI workloads push data centers toward higher power densities, liquid cooling and larger GPU clusters, open standards have become a central concern for hyperscalers and hardware makers alike. OCP's community work now spans open systems, cluster designs and data center facilities for AI, along with rack and power, cooling, networking (including SONiC), security and sustainability.
The event continues to grow. According to OCP, the 2025 Global Summit drew 10,835 attendees, the largest in its history.
Innovation Village and Future Technologies Symposium
Attendees can see emerging infrastructure technologies demonstrated in the Innovation Village, which features demos from the OCP Future Technologies Symposium (FTS) and the wider community, organized by technical zone.
Strong presence from Korean companies
Korean semiconductor and AI hardware companies are well represented among this year's sponsors, including Samsung and SK hynix at the Diamond level, FADU at the Ruby level, XCENA at the Sapphire level, and AI chip and CXL startups Rebellions and Panmnesia in the start-up category. Other Diamond sponsors include AMD, Arm, Cisco, Dell Technologies, Google, Intel, Meta, Microsoft and NVIDIA.
Last summit in San Jose
This will be the final Global Summit held in San Jose. Beginning in 2027, the event moves to the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco.
Registration
Public registration is open, and OCP notes that tickets are limited and may sell out before the event. Hotel room blocks are also available.
